Let’s learn about the exam fundamentals first.
The GATE entrance exam is organized every year by different IITs.
The exam is held in 25 subjects.
The examination result is valid for three years. There is no age limit for this exam.
A candidate with any one of the many degrees is eligible to appear for the exam. For instance, BE, BTech, BPharma, graduation in engineering or architecture, BSc (Research), etc.
MSc, MA, MCA or equivalent master’s degree in science, mathematics, statistics or computer sciences or integrated post BSc master’s degree in engineering or technology are also valid.
The final year students of the respective courses can also appear for the exam.
Applicants must pay attention to the GATE exam pattern. GATE is a Computer-based Test (CBT). A candidate needs to answer a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks in a duration of three hours.
It is an objective-type exam with negative marking. However, there is no negative marking for numerical type questions.
The questions cover general aptitude, engineering mathematics, and core engineering subjects in the form of recall, comprehension, analysis, synthesis, and numerical.
Candidates qualifying the GATE Entrance Exam are called for counseling.
